Santa Cruz County evacuations lifted, no major flooding reported

Schools in the San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District will be closed Monday.

The evacuation orders issued for areas of the Santa Cruz Mountains were lifted Monday morning. According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office, no mud slides or major flooding was reported in the mountain areas. Downed trees and wires were the biggest problem following the storm. Latest Weather Alerts Update 5:23 a.m. Monday: A high surf warning is in effect until 11 a.m. Tuesday.Update 10:30 p.m.: An areal flood advisory was issued through 3 a.m. for all Santa Cruz County due to heavy rainfall.Update 9:40 p.m.: The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for northwestern areas of Santa Cruz County. The advisory is in place until 12:15 a.m.An advisory is issued when hazardous weather is occurring or likely to occur. As of 11 p.m. Sunday, more than 5,000 PG&E customers were without power in Santa Cruz County. And more than 600 customers were without power in Monterey County.
