Russia helps its companies enter global market — Prime Minister

The Russian authorities are also removing trade barriers, Mikhail Mishustin noted

MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. Russia is introducing various support measures to make it easier for domestic companies to enter the international market, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said presenting his report to the State Duma, the lower house of parliament.

"We have significantly updated the legal framework regulating transactions with friendly countries. More than 10 international agreements have been signed. We have provided support tools to our companies wishing to supply their goods and services abroad. We have helped them develop new markets and directions, including through the efforts of the Russian Export Center," he said.

The Russian authorities are also removing trade barriers, Mishustin noted.

"Since 2020, more than 170 restrictive measures have been eliminated or significantly liberalized for Russian exporters. The effect of all these decisions, according to the most conservative estimates, is estimated at 550 billion rubles ($6.5 mln)," the Prime Minister said.

He recalled that the Agreement on Free Trade in Services in the CIS came into force last year.

As a result of these and other measures, Russian exports to friendly countries grew by almost 8.5% by the end of 2024, and their share in the total volume of deliveries abroad has more than doubled over the past six years.

"The implementation of the Agreement on the Unified Customs Transit System of the EAEU (Eurasian Economic Union - TASS), signed by the leaders in December last year, will serve to further expand foreign economic relations. It is open to partners who are not members of our association, and is designed to ensure seamless transit throughout the Union and in friendly states, and reduce logistics costs for businesses," the Prime Minister concluded.
